4th Saturday but hopefully 1st Wednesday
There were no excuses or flaws in the run. Simply a few of Larry?s competitors on Saturday night were just too slick for him. He jumped well from the striped box but could only muster enough to sit in third place early. He busted his hump trying to bridge the gap but it was all too much for the Showground as the two breakaway leaders broke away further. Entering the home straight we were hoping he could hold on for third and return a dividend but right on the post the pink dog, Underworld Jet, claimed us and we were relegated to fourth by the narrowest of margins.
About eight runs back Larry brought up his first win in WA with a last gasp effort hanging on to beat the fast finishing Underworld Jet by just two one hundredths of a second. So this time he got us by the same margin. What goes around comes around. Does Larry have an arch nemesis?
Well as Larry is in top form at the minute Pete Sayer has backed him up and entered him in a race on Wednesday. He goes round in race three having drawn box three. The race looks a touch easier than Saturday night?s was but these city grade five races are never a walk in the park.

Prior to Larry?s event on Wednesday, The dockerland Syndicate has an appointment on Tuesday night. Another of dockerland?s runners, Vivify, is seemingly struggling at the minute but she goes around at Mandurah on Tuesday night in the hope of pinching a podium finish. We?re going to need a big effort from her to enable that hope to become a reality. Box eight in a race full of dogs that seemingly jump similar times as her means she will find it very tough to get across. However, this being just her second run since the 9th of December suggests she should strip a fair bit fitter.
