Melbourne have got some big questions to answer after being absolutely humiliated by Fremantle at the MCG today. The one time Premiership favourites were given a lesson in how to play footy at the MCG, with the Dockers stunning them with one of the greatest quarters of football in the history of the game. The Dockers didn't start as well as they would have liked, with some supporters starting to eye off the gardening gear, but they were always within reach of Melbourne so the secateurs stayed in their box. The Demons crept out to a 30 point lead in the second quarter but Fremantle kicked a couple to stay in touch. Then the third quarter came. Fremantle were amazing, kicking goals from all angles, bringing down big grabs, weaving in and out of defence and dazzling the Dees with their party tricks. It was sensational football. When the three quarter time siren sounded, the game may as well have been over. Melbourne had no answers for the FREO Speedwagon and most experts are now calling it the beginning of the purple dynasty.
Fremantle won by 38 points.
