All the great teams have the occasional loss, and Fremantle were no exception this week. They will go into the second half of the season hungry, after a very excitable Carlton gave them more trouble than they could handle at the Marvel Stadium this week. Fremantle's tackling was ferocious, the defence was brave and their forwards were precise but they couldn't get enough of the football to put any scoreboard pressure on the Blues. Carlton were unrelenting while Fremantle eventually relented, that was the difference in the end. Fremantle spent the day trying to stop Carlton and not enough time getting the ball to their forwards. The Blues by 31 points.
