Despite dominating for three quarters Fremantle just snuck away with the 4 points against the Sydney, after a rampaging Swans cut Fremantle�s 8 goal half time lead to just a handful of points by the start of the last term. Fremantle were sensational in the opening half, restricting Sydney to just a goal, and a dubious one at that, while putting through 9 of their own, holding complete control over the centre square. But there were suggestions that the Freo team may have passed around a bottle of Anzac Centenary Commemorative Port at the half time break after the Dockers barely laid a finger on the ball or an opponent in the third term. Fremantle found a bit of energy to kick on with in the last quarter but things still got a bit hairy towards then end, particularly when Chris Mayne dobbed the sealer and took the team home to a 14 point win and their 4th consecutive win for the season.
