The heat has gone out of the season even earlier than usual for Fremantle this year, with a belting at the SCG last week and, let's be honest, Fremantle's position on the ladder relative to the mob up the road, but there should be a slight correction this week when Freo get a crack at North Melbourne at the Craypot. The axe has been kept in the shed once again with Mitch Crowden the only fallout from the Sydney debacle. He'll be replaced by Stephen Hill who is quite handy with a football but his neck only turns 180 degrees at best. A host of, let's say, hopefuls will hop onto the end of the extended interchange bench - Stephen Hill, Danyle Pearce, Shane Kersten, Tommy Sheridan and Stefan Giro.
