It was a great contest albeit sometimes a little scrappy, but the crowd certainly got their monies worth and by the time the match was over it seemed almost a shame there had to be a loser. In the end they gave the fight to Jeff Horn and then everyone headed out into the cold to watch the footy. It was a great contest albeit sometimes a little scrappy, but the crowd certainly got their monies worth and by the time the match was over it seemed almost a shame there had to be a loser, particularly because the scoreboard fell short of being in Freo's favour, with the Saints winning the game by 9 points. Fremantle looked like they had St Kilda on toast several times during the game but they just couldn't managed to sustain a full quarter of competence to put the Saints away. One minute they'd look a team ready to make an impact on the finals, the next they'd look like the 2015 team on a bad day. The young blokes were all good, the old blokes were often good but the highlight of the day, like most days, was Michael Walters who kicked half a dozen goals, got a couple of dozen kicks and dished off a handball or two.
Fremantle lost by 9 points.
