The "they" in this situation refers to Fremantle supporters and the "loss" is humiliating thrashing by a team who, before the loss, were facing relegation to Hobart by the end of the season. Fremantle played wet weather football when it was dry and dry weather football when it was wet but, to be honest, neither style represented a great understanding of how to play any kind of football. They lacked skills, they ran to the wrong places, they did quite dumb things quite often and they generally looked like a rabble. But sometimes it's better just to put a game behind you and never talk about it again. A nice easy game against Collingwood coming up should right the ship.
