Fremantle's reputation as flat track bullies is in ruins this weekend, after a lacklustre second half saw them go down to the Gold Coast Suns by a slightly embarrassing 24 points. It wasn't the fiercest of contests, neither side had much to play for or play with. It was a bit like two cousins who'd given up after weeks of trying to find a date for the school ball and decided they'd go together. Two teams on the same ground but doing their own thing. The game stayed even for most of the first half. The Gold Coast would put on a little bit of a show, then Fremantle would have their turn. Stephen Hill and Michael Walters looked like their managers had given them the word to go hard in case they were being put on any trade tables. Lachie Neale was his normal hard working self and Zac Dawson was his normal, err, self. Shane Yarran looked nervous early in his debut but settled and managed a couple of nice goals. No one was injured so, at this stage, Fremantle will be going around again next week.
Fremantle lost by 24 points.
