Matthew Pavlich. Footballer. Orchardist. All round top bloke. On Sunday he will pull on the purplish jumper for one last time and run about at Subiaco Oval waiting for someone to kick the ball in his general direction, just like he's done on so many other Sunday afternoons for the past 16 years. He's kicked more goals, played more games, had more jokes made about his nose and had to introduce himself to more coaches than anyone else in a Fremantle jumper. He's also the greatest ever Docker and the most beloved. Somewhere in the world there is a block of marble waiting to be shipped to Fremantle and chipped away at until it's a Matthew Pavlich statue. With that in mind, Fremantle want to make sure it's a special day for the great man and have rushed Zac Dawson back into the team. Also into the side are Matt deBoer and Tendai Mzungu or, as Pavlich calls them, the young fellas; with Aaron Sandilands making a special trip from the rehabilitation ward to make sure when Pavlich is carried off the ground, everyone will be able to see him. Sam Collins and Zac Clarke have been dropped, with three more to go before the game on Sunday.
