Fremantle reacquainted themselves with the concept of football this week and it paid immediate dividends with a spectacular victory over the Adelaide Crows which should see the AFL shelve plans to relocate the team to Hobart next season. The friends and family who showed up were staggered to see Fremantle players not just attempting to kick goals but actually kicking them from further than 30m out. They kicked long, played on, lead to the ball and took contested mark after contested mark. You'd pay money to watch that sort of thing every week. Adelaide, to their credit, also tried playing a bit of football but they weren't quite as good as it as Fremantle proved to be and had to head home 3 points the lesser side.
Fremantle won by 3 points.
