Brandon Matera has soared up the list to be rated the 4th best footballer in the Matera family with a match winning 3 goals, swooping in with a magnificent goal in the dying minutes, saving Fremantle from an uncomfortable defeat. It wasn't a return to the scintillating round 1 form that had Freo supporters in tears of joy but it was a lot better than the Gold Coast debacle from last week. The skills weren't amazing and the Saints weren't very good but the Dockers fought on despite several challenges from St Kilda and the loss of Nat Fyfe, who staggered off the ground after a Josh Battle brutalised him in the third quarter. Luke Ryan bounced back from some iffy form to run rings around any St Kilda blokes brave enough to get in his way, Michael Walters got a lot of footy and Ed Langdon was back to his best. Jesse Hogan didn't get a goal but will be better for the run. Freo won by 5 points.
Fremantle won by 5 points.
