The AFL integrity unity have launched an investigation into Fremantle after a man with a purple paintbrush was seen leaving the change rooms moments before a quality football team ran onto the ground, whose only resemblance to Fremantle team was the colour of their jumpers. The Dockers stunned the fans who'd stuck with them, running in the correct direction, kicking to team mates, kicking to them on the full, standing a distance from each other that allowed the ball to travel through the air when passed and, best of all, kicking the arses of the reigning premiers. Nat Fyfe was back to his Brownlow best, with David Mundy finding some touch and the Hill brothers back into the action. The forwards looked excited to see the ball and the defenders were even more excited not to see quite so much of it. The new blokes looked like veterans and some of the veterans looked like new blokes. And while things did look a bit shaky in the third quarter, in the end, it was a comfortable win for the Dockers, keeping the Bulldogs goalless in the final term to cruise home to a 3 goal win.
Fremantle won by 16 points.
