Were Fremantle an Olympic swimmer at the moment, they'd come from a landlocked country in Africa and have an adorable yet ironic nickname. It takes a lot of heart just for them to get out there and compete at the moment, heart is not matched by their ability to string ten consecutive minutes of competent football together. Fremantle's game plan against Adelaide just seemed to be to run interference and interrupt an Adelaide training session as much as they could. There were occasional flashes of brilliance from Fremantle players, Michael Walters did his best with the materials provided to him but for the most part it was a club preparing for the final playing one who were out there to complete their contractual obligation to the AFL for 22 matches a season.
Fremantle lost by 72 points.
