Look, with the benefit of hindsight it was a poor decision by the Fremantle to stay up all night watching women's swimming. In their defence though, it was just the Eagles they were to be playing so the evidence was with them. There were no regrets early. Fremantle looked once again like, regardless of form, talent or the ability to field a full side (not including a helmeted dwarf and a giant with a calcium deficiency) they would be able to humiliate the mob up the road with nothing more than the desire to do so. Unfortunately, about half way through the second quarter, the sugar and Redbull abandoned the Freo players and the game was as good as over. There was a little bit of fight left with the odd glimmer of hope suggesting that, even though the only full stand in the ground was the one with the injured Fremantle players, the Dockers could do the impossible - but the couldn't. The saddest part of all was that the Eagles deserved to be mocked for their terribleness and some of them might have left the ground thinking they're a chance to win another game this year.
Fremantle lost by 46 points.
