After witnessing the Fremantle v Richmond game this afternoon, the Harlem Globetrotters have refused an offer from Freo HQ for a demonstration match over the summer, claiming it would be too farcical a result. After an opening few minutes that looked like Fremantle had finally turned the corner, they all knocked off for the day and let Richmond run amok. Tigers players running with the ball were often seen glancing over the shoulders, wondering why no one was chasing them. Several had to stop to make they weren't mistakenly running in the wrong direction. By the time it was all over, Fremantle had gone down by 104 points for the second week in a row. Despite the debacle, there were a couple of positives on the day. Firstly, Harley Bennell kicked two goals, and secondly, he was able to walk off the ground when the game was over.
Fremantle lost by 104 points.
