Fremantle teased their supporters with the sort of mid tier competence that the locals have been crying out for all season. Kicking to team mates, marking in the forward line, completing tackles and the odd bit of Nat Fyfe. You know the stuff. By half time the city was abuzz, by three quarter time they were running numbers and working out last gasp ladder positions but 5 minutes into the last quarter, Fremantle reverted to the form of the past couple of months, with the midfield and defenders standing aside like Belgians welcoming in the German army and a forward line that resembles a queue at the fish and chip shop. Not wanting to make it look too obviously, Freo put up a bit of a fight to keep the Giants fans interested but the game was over earlier than it should have been, with GWS taking out an 11 point win.
Fremantle lost by 12 points.
