It was billed as the clash of teams that Ross Lyon had failed to get win a premiership with but it started out more like an intra club scratch match at the Washington Generals with two sets of players practicing looking ridiculous. It took a while but eventually Fremantle sorted themselves out and started playing something you could describe as football, at times looking like they could go professional at some point in the future, whilst the Saints looked like a team that was about to disband and go their separate ways - or at the very least find a new coach on Monday. But in the third quarter, the coach sacking pendulum swung back the other way, as Fremantle tossed aside all their first half efforts to let St Kilda back into the game. Thankfully the Saints are a truly terrible football team and Fremantle held on to win by 30 points.
Fremantle won by 30 points.
