Fremantle were present for another four quarters of football this afternoon, meeting the minimum requirements to continue levelling trading as an AFL football club. They were exceptionally punctual, getting onto the ground well before the opening siren and they kept those standards up throughout the day, never missing a start to a quarter. Their uniforms were an accurate representation of the designs submitted to the AFL, both in colour and cut. All the players wore the correct number and several of them appeared to have a loose grasp on the rules of the sport, allowing the game to flow freely. For their part, the Giants also met the requirements of a football team, although it might have been more sportsman like if they'd scored a dozen goals or so less, to avoid humiliating the away side. Fremantle now have one more week to complete the technical definition of a season, after which they have all agreed to go their separate ways and never speak of the events of 2016 again.
Fremantle lost by 92 points.
