There have probably been worse played games of football but it's hard to recall when. It's always nice when you can bring a good team down to your level and Fremantle did it in spectacular fashion against Port Adelaide. 3 goals in half a game of football is a sign of one team having a shocker but when two teams do it between them, it's time be thankful they got the bridge running to open up another escape route for the supporters. But those who managed to keep themselves inside the stadium were treated to a thrilling third quarter (thrilling, allowing for the very low expectations that had been set), with Fremantle kicking 4 goals to storm to a 10 point lead at three quarter time- surely insurmountable. The last term didn't live up to the excitement of the third but Fremantle managed to hold on for long enough to produce a percentage boosting 14 point win.
Fremantle won by 9 points.
