In what appears to be the AFL’s attempt to turn football into a reality television programme, Fremantle and West Coast will have a bit of a kick around somewhere north of the flour mill, in a place called Joondalup (sounds exotic) for the Tuesday night edition of the rolling coverage of the NAB Challenge (the cup appears to have fallen to the bank’s austerity measures). After several disappointing seasons. West Coast are expected to treat this game as a mini grand final, taking in a full strength side and throwing the lot at the 2013 Grand Final team. Fremantle are taking the game less seriously, going as far as to rest their coach (Peter Sumich will be manning the clichés) just to make sure he’s cherry ripe for round 1.
