No hard questions here.Everything is Honky Dory.
The first i would have said was why do you keep stuffing up your forward structure by putting probably the best forward playing at the moment into the ruck.
Like for like replace a ruckman with a ruckman,Meek showed that he was good enough to stay .
Not sure if Reidy was injured or travelled as an emergency.

Totally agree Frad I have been banging on about this for quite a while. Reidy and Brodie flew to Tassie. Why do we recruit these blokes- Reidy in particular - without giving him a crack. I bet Mitchell would have. Whilst accuracy once again nailed us Reidy up against Meek may have given us the edge. In the club survey I suggested every season they should select 20 supporter emails to get feedback to the coaches about the last game and any constructive comments, May amount to nothing but allows one to let off a bit of "steam" !

We seem to drop off in clearance work when we lose quite a few games. How about playing a big sub who can make an impact in the middle and provides flexibility going forward?

Walters is not a good choice for the sub, but how about Will Brodie!?

Judging by that game Brodie should be playing before Johnson.

When we drop out of the 8 next week after playing the Eagles, then maybe he'll start looking at these other options...

If you guys saw the posts last week about team selection, you would see that Reidy isn't highly rated and the better option was Jackson leading the ruck with Treacy backing up like earlier in the season. That would be your answer.

In Reidy's absence on the weekend, Knobel had the opportunity to lead the ruck for Peel and put in a fantastic performance as a 20yo showing how you dominate as a ruck at WAFL level. He had 50 hitouts, 16 touches and kicked a beautiful goal. He dominated the ruck and contributed well around the ground, unlike Reidy who has only had more than single figure disposals 4 times in 11 games while kicking 1 goal for the year. The only downside was not having Ras and Brodie there to capitalise on his ruck dominance.

The coaches see Reidy every week at training and in the WAFL, there's a reason they aren't playing him as a lead ruckman. Knobel is actually closer to it than Reidy and he's in his second season. At 206cm, he still has some filling out to do but he looked very good on the weekend. Needs to work on his agility and ability to run up and down the ground but does well when around the ball.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

They problem with playing Treacy in the ruck now he is a class forward and threat to the opposition, is it makes it easy for opponents to go to the "edge" of the rulebook to take him out of the game.

It's no different to earlier in the season when he was performing the exact same role as a forward/ruck and still kicking goals. Only 5 games in the 18 rounds this season has Treacy not had a hitout and he actually averages less goals per game in those 5 hitoutless games. He's always played stints in the ruck.

I think he is more of a target now, Biz, that is my point. Why make it easy for opposition to smash him? A lot of those hitouts earlier in the year would have been forward line cover duties.

You don't need quality ruckman against the big lugs, they have to be big enough, tall enough and ugly enough to compete, not letting their opponent tap the ball at will. Split the contest. Meek was too big. You need a big dude like that. Doesn't have to be a quality player like Darcy.

Treacy in the ruck is a disaster. Cause he will not like getting owned in there and won't take a backward step. He's going to get hurt.
