Freddy immediately after his backflip: “I’m not too sure about what JL (Senior Coach Justin Longmuir) will have to say about it, so maybe it’s just a one-off thing!”

I think Freddy knew exactly what Jlo would have to say about it and it’s why we’ll never see it again. We can’t have players celebrating goals. That’s important energy they should be saving for pressure acts.

I really like what Amiss and Treacy are offering us in the future but I really think that JLo's biggest failure as a coach was his inability to make something work when we had Jesse Hogan and Cam McCarthy on our list . Huge talents who could have been our forward mainstays for a decade but for some reason JLo couldn't get the best from them. Hogan is a star at GWS, he would have looked good in Purple

Look I know the bloke bleeds purple .... i cannot question that, or, his endeavour. I'd love to keep any bloke with a heart like his.

But, can he kick, ? ( he has improved, but theres still too many clangers...)

Is it gonna get better? ( I doubt it, hes been in our system for 7 yrs now...)

Is he gonna be a goal kicking midfielder, (ala Worner? )

Is he gonna be a quarter back style midfielder.,( ala Mundy, Young? )

Is he going to be the bullocking style mieldfielder that Fyfe is/was?

Your'e not gonna get rid of Young, and you're not gonna give up Serrong.

You all want Worner, Hes not coming unless someone 'quite good' goes....

And -presumeably- there's still a midfield spot for Fyfe ( there's no other spot for this champion of our club - we have tried that ), and , presumeably - we want the developing Johnson & Erasmus to hold down a midfield spot...

You couldn't give up any of those latter 3 to get Worner....

Harsh reality has to hit somewhere along the line.....

Fyfe and O’Meara looked slow on the weekend and just couldn't get near it. I think O’Meara should be sent forward if they don't want to bring Simpson in, and Fyfe could go to the sub role for a bit and bring Brodie in.
I like Warner but doubt we can get him, maybe trade one of our first round picks for a next years first round and draft some talent in this year, we still need a small forward and a fast goal kicking mid (actually anyone that can kick goals really).

Some of you guys are speaking like you have no idea how list management, contracts and trading works. Andy is signed for next season and the rest of our elite talent is signed up long term for many years. Our core is secured and set to go while Andy is the last person on the list to leave for money elsewhere. He'll sign a big contract next year that will set him up for life, you don't have to worry about him.

A lot of you have also missed the salary cap increasing a tonne over the next few years and how that factors into all of these negotiations. The club has money to spare and will be going out to use it. There's no need to worry about having to sacrifice anyone to bring players in.

Chad Warner completes our midfield and is who we should be targeting. Anyone else is a waste of effort. It's unlikely we get him in this year but we should at least be applying the pressure and having a red hot crack at him. Next season is most likely. With so many clubs requiring draft points to meet their academy and father son selections, that should see a good opportunity to cash in our 1st round draft picks this season into better ones next year. Build the war chest to bring Warner home.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

If we can't bring in Boot-more & Goals this year, then I'm with Biz for the war chest.

Hey Biz, any further thoughts on my boy Max Rohr after his efforts in Under 18s matches? I know you weren't too keen on him earlier but he seems to be developing really well down at Claremont this season and might be a good pick up in the Draft.

Not really. Rohr snapped a couple of opportunistic goals yesterday and got on the end of some good work but again, he's a year or more older than everyone so you'd be expecting him to dominate. His other U18 champs games were pretty disappointing and he was barely noticed. He's not big enough to be a ruckman at the next level which means you're comparing him to the key forward class. I don't see it.

Gerreyn has actually gone down in my book too despite kicking a few yesterday. He looks so slow and heavy in comparison to everyone else, really struggling to get involved until yesterday's game. For a third tall forward/ruckman, I'd be hoping for a bit more athleticism so I'm struggling to find his role at AFL level. He might have slipped from that 30-40 range to 40-55 in my estimates.

Biz any insights into why Omeara gets a game and Brodie can not?

I’m liking how this has turned into an Ask Biz segment.
Hey Biz, obviously Warner should be a priority this offseason and maybe next, but what about a goal kicking small forward to replace Sonny. We recruited Simpson and Delean at the last draft, but do we need to pick up one to fill the void until they are ready, and if so, who?
