As a side issue, a post on another thread noted that we should not be over protective of draft picks as they are just young players who have never played against anyone but schoolkids. I have just read an article on A Pearce in which he says that he was playing senior footy at age 15 in a local comp in Tassie. It could be a reason why he has slotted in so well from day 1 for Freo, like another young gun who was playing senior footy at a young age, and now has a Brownlow. Hopefully Bond is looking into the background of this years draft picks, and past the State under age reps, to those who have some real footy experience to go with their natural talent.
