harsh on Sturt

O'Meara needs to repay the faith. He's not shown enough to hold his spot for mine

Hope we don't fall for the rough-house tactics against Lobb this time which took our focus off the game last time.
Glad to see the foward line got a makeover. I hope they all bring-it, especially considering the special occassion.

Lobb's performance over the last season and a bit is enough of a reason to just ignore him. Hardly much of a loss to the club.

Why does our long standing Len Hall ANZAC Tribute game get shunted to Saturday night and Johnny Come latelys GWS and Brisbane get to play ON Anzac Day?

Is it because Fremantle supporters will go to the football whenever it is on but GWS need to make an event of it

It was a quiet week at the tribunal and the AFL needed to fill it's weekly quota on shafting Fremantle.

How is JOM holding his spot in the side? It's actually baffling that we'd rather play a 30 year old who can't run or find the footy over a 20 year old top 10 draft pick who is clearly too good for WAFL level and needs top flight experience. Erasmus is not going to learn anything further by playing in the WAFL, he needs games.

The selection committee are doing a terrible job.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

I think it's because of the 4 year deal he is on and not wanting to look stupid for drafting him if he were to be dropped.
Erasmus has been shafted, I don't think he will be with us next year.
Can only hope they don't make the same mistake and draft Baker.

Just because you're a top 10 pick, it doesn't mean you're any good. I would rate Young and Johnson way ahead of Erasmus at the moment. Andy & Caleb go without saying.

As for Jaeger, he been in the leadership group since he started so is always ahead of others in the pecking order. Especially when the geniuses wanted Fyfe to play forward.

Now Fyfe is back onball, we don't really need O'Meara nor Brodie for that matter. Possibly not Erasmus either unless he's coming off the bench. Guess which one of those 4 is not a 1st round pick but has a couple of medals to his name.

I haven't seen Erasmus play a memorable game yet, whose fault is that, the match committee's? Same goes for Sturt, one good game on debut doesn't make a career. The spotlight should be on Emmett too now.

The point was that Ras clearly has a lot of talent, you can see him dominate at WAFL level. He wins the ball, breaks out of packs and uses it quite well but that isn't translating to AFL level because he doesn't have the same time to do what he wants and is also played at half forward. It's so clear to see he is a step or two behind everyone else in his thought process, taking extra moments to decide what he wants to do next. It gets him caught with the ball, hesitating to move it on and struggling to impact.

He has not had a decent run at a spot in the side to build that awareness and movement, to learn how to make those decisions at speed and work into the game plan. For the most part he's played as the sub with a short stint late last year where he avoided the vest for a few games that included a very good 26 disposal and 10 tackle game. I thought he looked quite good running through the middle in that game but he was quickly returned to half forward the next week and the sub vest.

It's messing up his development.

Biz, some players never take the step up to the next level because they can not find those extra couple of seconds to succeed. Erasmus may be one of those types, I think.
