I fly out tomorrow for a 26 day stint if I miss my flight with short notice I will be expected to pay for it and go to the back of the que for another flight whilst not getting payed.
It won't happen as I have bills to pay and are mature enough to understand my part of the deal.
These blokes need to consider the options outside footy with their off field experience might find themselves wanting in the earnings department.

Yea Morgan, the Iraqis faired about the same as Freo did against the Hawks.
However, the Iraqi Info Minister, may have viewed and conveyed it in a different light.
Its just a point of view, glass half full sorta logic or maybe rose coloured glasses.

The thing is, Josh missing the plane can be conveyed to the media by a simple explanation, with a "full stop". There is NOT a need to air any reason or specifics about Josh's case.
It is very unprofessional to be airing Josh's details, before all concerned have sorted the issues in private.
Josh is an AFL footballer, employed by FFC. It is no different to a miner, teacher or any other field of employment. Do what needs to be done, in house and in private.
Then, when all is said and done. We get the Iraqi Info Minister to convey the outcome.

He's had one lapse of judgement. I hope they don't crucify him for it. It's not as if he's:

* Run from the booze bus
* Associated with organised criminals
* Been busted for drink driving
* Assaulted someone in a night club
* Pick any one of the much worse transgressions committed by AFL footballers in recent years

He's just a kid, where's the sense in ruining his career? Give him some community-service related penance, get him talking to his mentors and cut him a break.

Cranky by the sounds of it this isnt the first time. In saying that comparing to west coast is quite harsh, everyone in the league knew ben cousins should have been sacked and deregisterred years before they finally did.

The last gu who didnt tow the line got banished until he met standards.


Then he became the best small forward in the comp..

If josh has the mental strength, perservearance and will power to fight for his spot and earn the respect, then he will be an outstanding footballer. If he doesnt it will simply be a waste of talent, like many before him who have had outstanding junior careers against kids and part timers, but arent prepared to work hard enough to crack the big league.

I for one hope to see him again in purple and white.

I've never been convinced of the scientific reasoning that Walters got better by being banished to the WAFL. I remember him being very good. Then not playing in the team for a while. Then coming back and being very good. Makes a good story to scare the kids though.

Of course, now you can only make them play for the Peel Dockers.
