TOPIC: HE FORGOT TO BLAME THE FULL MOON

Just as an aside. Last Wednesday night, Mark Harvey on 6PR mentioned that listeners should get on-board with this multi-bet of teams to win: Collingwood, Geelong, Port Adelaide, and based on what was told him, Essendon (apparently, they were heading over to WA 'very very confident). This would have netted about $2.50.

Those who did bet based on his tips (including the 'sponsor' they managed to get on the night for this bet) clearly flushed their money down the toilet.

It is of course the AUSTRALIAN football league, and Australia is a hot country. AFL matches are occasionally played in Darwin, not especially noted for its coolth.

It's a pity that "we got smashed by a far better team on the day" is so hard for him to say. After all, we were all saying it a week earlier.

Message to Bomber:

Both teams played under the same conditions you are whining about. The Dockers won by 9 goals because they were the better side. By any logic a 9 goal win is due to more than the effects of weather. If this was the case then Victorian sides should always win in the wet and in the cold. Doesn't happen but.

Bomber get over it mate you're losing credibility very rapidly as a 'sportsman' with your unsportsman-like whinging.

Don't be so hard on Bomber. We haven't played Carlton yet.

Totally agree, DDD, that both teams had to play in the heat. Coming over with 23 players not knowing two of them were feeling a bit iffy lacks professionalism and respect for the opposition. To say Fletch stays at home because "he is old" lacks respect for us too.
Both teams played under the same sun. Both teams have lengthy lists of outs and underdone players coming in. The better team won. And we were the better team by some margin. Place Goddard, Ryder and Bellchambers back in, it could have been a slightly different story. Throw in Fyfe, Barlow, Mayne and Mike it could have been a bigger blow out.

Bomber, I'm sorry your team sucks. But you suck even more. But that's okay cos you've still got Hirdy and his hair, and he sucks most of all. Yours Sincerely TGTI

I'm with Thomo. Games in Perth prior to May are just too hot. I don't know if any of you were there two weeks ago when Fremantle played Gold Coast but it was a scorcher.

Luckily, there is a solution. WA is getting itself a new ground and from what I've heard on the grape-vine they're building a start-of-the-art sprinkler system in to the roof that will allow for all games to be played in the wet, as well as a fanned evaporative cooling system that will keep it at 12 degrees centigrade with the wind blowing in the direction that the Victorian team is kicking to (If there is no Vic team playing then the wind will blow for which ever team has their training grounds closest to Victoria).

All's well that ends well.

Jooter my $5 multi won me $150, it included melbourne, hawthorn, port, geelong by more than 40 and Freo +2.5 line. Im kicking myself I didnt go Freo by more than 40 and turn that $5 into $500.

Thompson and his so-called brains trust buggered themselves when they named both Chapman and Fletcher, knowing full well that neither of them was going to travel. When Myers ate a Subi Oval burger and came down with the trotts (you need to build an immunity to those things) and Goddard pulled his heart muscle he was left without enough troops.

Mind you, the ones he had were largely ordinary.

Robbo can stick it up an unlikely orifice. How many years has the footy been played in Perth now? I'm reasonably certain that the purple guernsey (while having miraculous powers) is not made of the same stuff as the Space Shuttle's heat shield.

Bomber used to love sitting in his coaches box TV cameras showing that smug f#&!%ing grin on his face as he sent out another team of bully boys to bash up the kids from Freo on the way to another easy win at Kardinya Park.

Well guess what Bomber, what goes round comes round, some of those kids have grown up and started whacking back at the bully boys. If you don't like it, get out.

You don't expect them to be honest do you. This mob also never used needles or illegal supplements.

I thought goddard was subbed because of sunburn originally.

Paul roos summed it up pretty well actually. The teams in the west (and throw in gc and bris) are used to the hotter climate than vics are, its all apart of their home ground advantage. But they also have to travel a huge amount more, so they can have their home ground and heat advantage.

They should have known they were in for a bad day as soon as their jumpers faded from black to grey.

watching the panel on 360,roos and thompson were on,thompson still had to go on about the weather, but in saying that the panel with wheatley leading the way put up the heat factor and showed us not in ice jackets at 3/4 time and virtually all of them in them.
but what roosy said was lets take this as it is what it is ,teams go over to perth to play under our conditions and we do the same in vic,,but he said wa teams travel so much over the year,to him any advantage we get we deserve,i thought well said roosy, even though you are a good mate of ross's you are making a lot of sense here.
the rest of the panel were stumped and the look on their faces was funny, and then agreed with him.
a small victory .

I saw 360 last night and was well pleased with Roos's comments - basically shutting down any whinging from Thomo regarding the weather, pointing out how both WA teams actually have to TRAVEL every other week. Thomo looked like Roos had trodden on his favourite toy - classic bottom lip-pout.
