Teflon Thompson is excellent at diverting attention away from issues that he doesn't want to address, but AFL football matches shouldn't be played when the temperature is north of 30 degrees. There's no need for it, and it's dangerous. Fremantle were quite clearly too good for Essendon yesterday in basically every area of the game, the only effect that the heat had was to put the players from both teams under undue stress. Plus I'm fortunate to sit on the northern side, but plenty of people on the southern side pay just as much. It must have been annoying trying to block out the glare of the sun using one of the light towers.
Is it still the case that only so many night matches are able to be played at Pattersons Stadium each season because of the Subiaco council?
