Fremantle supporters are being urged to take their holidays in August, at the latest, this year to keep September free for watching the Dockers win the flag; and October through February open for celebrating. The Dockers cake walked into Melbourne this week, rolled the Bulldogs in the opening quarter and spent the rest of the match toying with them.
The first quarter was a Globetrotteresque display of footy skills from Fremantle as they ran, ducked weaved and goosified their way around Etihad park to kick the opening five goals of the match. A bit of luck and a thin piece of padding around the goal post saw the Bulldogs scrape one home in the dying seconds of the quarter but Fremantle rallied and pushed on for one more to make it the full 5 goal lead at quarter time.
There was a brief moment where everything clicked for the Bulldogs and they reached competence but it was very brief and the Dockers stretched their lead out to 49 points in the last quarter before winding things back to concentrate on keeping everyone in good condition for the next 4 points against Essendon next week.
