FREMANTLE coach Ross Lyon has implored his side to rely less on "inventing" handballs and play with the direct style that allowed the Dockers to prevail in the second half against the Western Bulldogs.
The Dockers held a slender three-point lead at the main break, but blew the game open with a ten-goal second half on their way to a crucial 38-point win.
Lyon said there was a clear half-time message to eradicate over-using the ball by hand.
“We were almost one-to-one handball – I think it was 49 kicks, 39 handballs – in the second quarter, and it was really ineffective and it would be really frustrating for the forwards,” he said.
